November 10th, 2011
The inimitable Nancy Dell’Olio is waltzing her way to Erotica 2011 next Friday (November 18th) to get the party started – and no one will judge her!
Nancy, who gamely gave the nation a giggle and set some pulses racing during her Saturday night exploits on Strictly Come Dancing, will open the World’s biggest adult lifestyle show at Olympia in London.
Erotica 2011 is totally in step with the current dance craze phenomenon promising to go ‘beyond the ballroom’ with its Main Stage premiere featuring former Strictly dancers Andrew Cuerden and Hanna Haarala.
Nancy, will meet up with the dance troupe of 12, take a quick-step tour of the 150 plus exhibits, meet her fans – and raise a glass of champagne to love and life.
“We welcome her with open arms.” Said Savvas Christodoulou, Erotica CEO.
“The Strictly judges made some very harsh remarks about her which were in some cases below the belt.
“In our opinion she exudes glamour and sexuality – and has embraced the eroticism of dance, the theme of Erotica 2011.”

November 7th, 2011
The old adage ‘Sex Sells’ is still as heightened as ever despite the economic downturn – according to Erotica 2011, the adult lifestyle festival which comes to Olympia next week (November 18th -20th ).
More than a hundred and fifty leading companies from all aspects of the sex and adult entertainment sectors will be represented at the three-day love fest – which is expected to attract around 60,000 and generate around £12m in revenue.
Pre ticket sales are proving to be as strong as during the boom years.
“People are looking for a little escapism at the moment and we are the perfect place for them to indulge themselves.” said Savvas Christodoulou, Erotica CEO.
“The entertainment industry tends to weather a downturn far better than some other sectors – and we are on target for a very good year.
“The British are far more ready to explore the physical and romantic side of life than when Erotica was first licensed 15 years ago – it’s now a question of more sex please we’re British.”
No more than 12,500 attended the show in 1997 – and those that did were mainly men. The 2010 event attracted a crowd in excess of 50,000 with women making up more than 50 per cent of those
This year’s dance theme – featuring former Strictly stars – seems to have captured the imagination of a public that is curious to go beyond the ballroom and learn a little more about the wonders of a waltz on the wild side.
Erotica – which combines opulent, outlandish stage entertainment, with art, fashion, passion, and educative seminars for people of any sexuality – is in its 15th season.
The festival offers a much needed focal point and end of year cash injection for what can be a sector that struggles to make the mainstream.
The average spend per attendee is around £200 – which points to around gross revenues of £12m generated during the show.
“People shop till they pop,” said Savvas, “all the latest gadgets and gizmos are on show and on sale – we keep Duracell in business!”
Among the new must-have gadgets and gizmos being unveiled at Erotica 2011 is an alarm clock (The Little Rooster) that wakes women up in a state of ecstasy and sheets that contain inbuilt restraints!
Erotica carries out extensive market research on attendees to ensure that the industry is fully up to speed.
Women are the main arbiters for whether couples buy tickets for the show. More than forty per cent are graduates.
Many travel from across the country to attend and use Erotica as a base for a Christmas shopping spree in the capital.
