 With Erotica just over a week away this will be my penultimate profile before the show itself, which of course I will be attending. I spotted a print ad yesterday in the London Paper for the event, reminding me what a high profile it has in the consciousness of Londoners. With so little time before the show starts, I decided to cover a firm the like of which I haven't covered yet at all, a genre not previously represented at the show - piercing. Attendees are used to walking away from Erotica laden down with shopping bags but imagine being able to walk away wearing your purchase! As with tattooing, when you are getting a piercing the one thing you need is professionalism and trust that your piercer knows what they're doing and today's firm are at the top of that particular tree. |

 I hesitated about doing this profile, because inevitably it will take a personal turn. It can't be approached like the others I have written but nevertheless it is a valid company to cover since the product lies at the centre of the fetish universe. It just happens to be my day job.  With less than a month to go until the Erotica fair at Earls Court kicks off time is short and doesn't leave me with many more companies to preview before the fair kicks off. However, I couldn't possibly let another week go by without covering the well known, well respected and immaculately run company, genuine all-rounders in the fetish/goth/burlesque scene - FairyGothMother. I came into contact with them, and owner Sam, what seems like a long time ago, through my Skin Two day job. |

 With the amount of stands you will find at next month's Erotica fair there is room for everything. Want an adult DVD and don't fancy a trip into sleazy Soho? No problem. Need a custom made corset? Easy. From dungeon equipment to sex toys, there is everything for the palate. But what about clothing that goes underneath that's not for show? For women there's always a wealth of lingerie and sexy undies to browse through. But the complaint we hear most is the lack of attention paid to men in this regard. It's expected that women will dress up for their men and there are hundreds of outlets nationwide that give women this chance.  Today's profile is of a company I have known for many years through my day job at Skin Two. Call me biased but I've always had a latent affection for the organisations from my own native north west of England and Rawhide Corsets, originally from Preston but now based in Birmingham, fit this bill perfectly. In the last few years, with the quite incredible increase in the popularity of burlesque, a great many companies have sprung up to take advantage of this trend. Rawhide have been around since long before that and their reputation as one of England's premier corset manufacturers is in no doubt. |
